GLNY presents 1st FDNY Foundation check

"March 23rd, 2012 - Gray Line New York presented its First Annual FDNY Foundation check to Manhattan Borough Commander, James Esposito, at Engine 54, Ladder 4 and Battalion 12's firehouse located on 48th Street and 8th Avenue. The donation of $5,000 was collected from the period of May, 2011 to February, 2012, made by customers of New York Sightseeing and New York Sightseeing itself. The location for the check donation was chosen because it sits directly across from Gray Line New York's flagship visitors center, located at 777 8th Avenue, and also because of the firehouse's connection with 9/11.

"We've seen our neighbors' loss in 2001 and have always felt a need more than ever to support FDNY," says David Chien, Gray Line New York's Director of Marketing, "The 10th anniversary in 2011 truly reminded us that there is still more work to do, so we look forward to donating a check to the foundation each year from this point forward. We will certainly strive for the number to that check to be bigger and bigger each year!"

The FDNY Foundation is the official not-for-profit of the FDNY established to promote Fire Safety in New York City and the professional development, training, and education of members of the FDNY.
